Errata

In Figure 4-8 on page 104, the dashed line indicating the global average annual rate of improvement in Final Energy Intensity of Economic Activity (FE/GDP) of -1.4% is identified as corresponding to the period 1980-2000. The label is incorrect, and the correct label is 1980-1995, in sequence with the other two dashed lines on the same pane.

Though the error was corrected in all appendices, it still appears in slides #43, 44, 78, and 92 of the (less animated) dissertation defense visual aids as they were delivered. Based on IEA data, the global trend line for FE/GDP over the 1980-2000 period falls at an average annual rate of -1.5%, even faster than the 1980-1995 period. Therefore, the findings of the analysis are not changed by the correction to the trend line label.
